When I was by myself smoking, I would look at the cigarette and say the same basic thing directly to the cigarette.
And do you know what. Within a couple of months of doing that, I went in my pack to grab a smoke only to find out that it was my last one. I looked at that cigarette and said, “this is it, I’m done.” I proceeded to smoke that cigarette and haven’t touched one since that day.
It was literally as simple as that. I’ve realized that quitting smoking is what you think about quitting and not about being addicted to nicotine. You’re addicted to nicotine if you believe that you’re addicted to nicotine. It’s as simple as that, and if you buy into the hype, you’ll believe that you’re addicted to nicotine. Blend it all together as best as can be done till smooth. I simply waited until she fell asleep, rubbed it on both feet and hands, covered each with a sandwich bag- yes, sandwich bags, (not ziplock – fold-away – or substitute) and covered her up well – and VOILA! I checked ON her overnight and the fever was broken – by morning she was ready for a good meal and JUST AS bright and playful as ever. I thought this was probably a one off. But no, it worked every time. For throat infections I simply rubbed the throat WITH IT and put on a hot water cloth and covered it(she loved it!) or a hot towel in the dryer and she loved it on her neck – sort of works like a very comfortable WARM neck brace.

I'm sure that by now I don't really have to tell you about all the terrible physical things that can happen to you if you keep smoking.  You know about the cancer, and the strokes, the heart disease, and on and on.  The effects of cigarette smoking are well documented.  And telling you about them at every opportunity doesn't really accomplish anything, does it?  You're still smoking, after all.  If scaring you about death and disease worked, every smoker would now be an ex-smoker.  Besides, physical disease is only the half of it when it comes to smoking.  The real effects of cigarette smoking may even be worse.

Being a smoker causes a great amount of damage to your psyche.  It damages your self-esteem.  You portray yourself as a competent adult, in control of your own life, yet you can't go more than a few hours without having to light up.

4) Find natural solutions – Many times the real addiction is in the habit of smoking, such as lighting up after every meal. Sometimes this habit can be replaced by other healthier solutions, such as chewing a piece of gum.
